Charlotte has always enjoyed doodling with pictures and took some art courses in college, though she found she had to devote more time to her photography because of the requirements of her major in mass communications.

Though she has never considered herself to be an artist per se, she always begins her designs with a sketch of a concept.  You will never find any bead pattern program-generated designs here.  Each design begins with an original sketch, which she graphs or charts and then beads.

During the last year and a half, she has been learning how to colorize her drawings with the help of a computer graphics program, which has helped her design capabilities as well as teaching her the fine technique of shading and using color in her art.
